Cayla Nielsen Breaks Runs Scored Record As Bluejay Softball Sweeps DePaul with 8-1 Victory

OMAHA, Neb. – Senior broke the all-time career runs scored record, surpassing Stacey Rybar with 133 career runs scored as the Creighton softball team rolled to a series sweep of DePaul on Sunday with an 8-1 victory.

Creighton improved to 31-19 on the season with their sixth consecutive victory, while climbing back into second place in the BIG EAST with a 14-7 league record. The Bluejays six game winning streak is the longest streak of its kind since 2018, while the Bluejays 14 home wins this season are the most since Creighton finished the 2008 season with a 19-2 home record.
